Edilians is the leading manufacturer and marketer of clay tiles in France, with more than 1,100 employees, 14 factories, and 17 organisational sites. The company first established a procurement marketplace in 2005 and, as it grew, identified the need for a more flexible, user-friendly, and configurable solution. Edilians chose Proactis for its ability to establish a private marketplace, the quality of its user interface, and the flexibility of its configuration and monitoring capabilities. Today, 95% of all 15,000+ annual orders are managed through the Proactis platform - with administrators gaining significant autonomy and users rapidly adopting the intuitive solution.
Challenge
Edilians is the leading manufacturer and marketer of clay tiles in France, operating more than 1,100 employees, 14 factories, and 17 organisational sites across the country. The company had been operating a procurement marketplace since 2005, but as the business grew and market demands evolved, the limitations of the existing solution became apparent.
Edilians needed a tool capable of managing all catalogue types - supplier catalogues, internal catalogues, and punch-outs - alongside purchase order and reception management, to give users access to the products and services negotiated by the Purchasing department. The rapid replacement of the old solution, with a clean transfer of data and integration with the existing ERP system, was essential.
A critical requirement was also the rapid adoption of the new solution by the widest possible user base. Edilians wanted to provide administrators with greater autonomy and flexibility to configure and manage the platform without needing to raise support requests for routine changes - and for users to find the system intuitive enough to adopt quickly and confidently.
Solution
Edilians selected Proactis for its ability to establish a private marketplace, the quality of its user interface, configuration flexibility, and competitive pricing. The implementation was managed by a dedicated Proactis Project Manager, covering configuration, administrator training, user support, and supplier onboarding for catalogue integration.
With Proactis, users have online access to the ordering platform and can place orders directly from catalogues of referenced suppliers. The Purchasing team manages their own catalogues and product references with corresponding prices, and orders and receptions validated in the solution are automatically integrated into the ERP for financial follow-up. The platform accommodates customised settings across all 17 sites - including validation workflows, additional fields, user counts, and other parameters - giving each site the flexibility it needs within a unified platform.
The ongoing support team continues to assist users when needed and responds quickly to requests. The solution evolves regularly, with new functionality consistently proposed to keep the platform current with Edilians' needs.
