Hoyer Group is a global leader in specialist bulk logistics for the chemical, petroleum, food, and gas industries, operating across more than 115 countries. With procurement projects spanning multiple divisions and lacking a consistent, visible process, the Group implemented Proactis Source-to-Contract to standardise and automate sourcing. Challenge
Hoyer Group is a global leader in providing specialist bulk logistics for the chemical, petroleum, food, and gas industries. Established in 1946 as an independent family business, the company employs 6,100 people in over 115 countries and turns over $1.2 billion annually.
Purchasing is managed through a central Procurement team, but numerous projects of varying size and complexity were running across the Group with limited visibility. There was no consistent, repeatable process for sourcing - meaning different projects were run in different ways, with varying questions asked of suppliers, different scoring criteria applied, and no systematic way to track approvals, decisions, or historic documents.
The team required a solution that would bring transparency and consistency to procurement projects across the Group, ensure compliance, and allow performance statistics to be tracked and compared across categories and suppliers.
Solution
Hoyer selected Proactis Source-to-Contract - encompassing Supplier Management, Sourcing, and Contract Management - to achieve its digital transformation objectives and create consistent, transparent, and compliant procurement processes. Proactis worked closely with the team through structured workshops, translating complex internal workflows into flexible, system-supported processes.
Systematic and standardised sourcing templates, including scoring, weighting, and approval functionalities, were implemented to ensure every sourcing project follows the same compliant path - regardless of category or scale. Employees now purchase from authorised suppliers at agreed rates, with full visibility of supplier performance through the platform.
The solution significantly compressed project timescales. Sourcing processes that previously took months and considerable manual effort can now be completed in two weeks, with complete control and visibility from start to finish.
