Overview

Manpower Group is one of the world's largest employment solutions organisations, helping over 300 people find a new career every minute and serving more than 400,000 customers globally. In the Netherlands, the Group operates 150 offices and recognised the need for a centralised, intuitive procurement platform to manage spend across all locations. By implementing the Proactis Marketplace SaaS solution, Manpower achieved its target of processing 70% of all purchased goods and services through a single system - giving the Procurement team organisation-wide visibility and control of expenditure.

Challenge

Manpower Group provides innovative employment solutions to more than 400,000 customers, helping over 300 people find new careers every minute around the world. In the Netherlands, Manpower operates 150 offices employing approximately 1,000 consultants, each of which requires goods and services - from laptops and office equipment to property maintenance - to support their primary function.

In order to manage and control total expenditure, the organisation sought to centralise purchasing processes. However, the high staff turnover typical of the staffing industry meant that any solution needed to be immediately intuitive - enabling employees to place orders quickly without requiring extensive system knowledge or training.

The ultimate goal was for 70% of all purchased goods and services to flow through a single platform, providing the Procurement team with real-time visibility of quantities purchased, expenditure, and the ability to negotiate more effectively with suppliers.

Solution

Manpower selected the Proactis Marketplace SaaS solution to provide a user-friendly, centralised procurement platform accessible from every branch location. The solution was designed around a simple, consumer-style ordering experience - comparable to online shopping - to ensure rapid adoption across a high-turnover workforce.

Employees across all branches can access the platform directly from their workstations, placing orders that are immediately forwarded to the relevant centrally-selected suppliers. The SaaS delivery model was a key advantage, removing the need for local IT infrastructure, administration, or maintenance - meaning no additional burden was placed on the internal IT team.

The platform gives the Procurement team direct, real-time visibility of purchasing activity across all locations - quantities ordered, goods and services procured, and total expenditure - enabling proactive management of the entire organisation's spend pattern.
